One of Yavhi's favourite things to do during our Blueberry Farm Kids Book shoot was apple picking.   You don't get much cuter than this that is for sure.  All personality and looks taboot.  What a charmer!

This is a fun twist to the activities I am up to.  I retired from the Hutt Valley DHB as their lactation consultant to focus on the photography,  but I couldn't stand the fact that I wasn't working with new families anymore, so I decided to start up Boobs in the Berries.  It is an antenatal class that is taught on the farm in my very cool tipi / wigwam.  The Dominion Post came out to see what we were up to so keep an eye out for the article in the features section about the class.

Mandi Lynn Photography to produce a book about the Blueberry Farm Earth Camp

Children Wanted to be featured in a limited edition coffee table book called The Blueberry Farm Kids Book.  The book will be about all of the engaging activities that take place at the Earth Camp at the Blueberry Farm. The production of the book will help to educate a village of Nepalese Sherpa children.  To find out more follow this link.

Chairs for Special Care

Many of you know that before I was a photographer I was a Lactation Consultant and I worked at Hutt Valley DHB.  I love the place and the people there like family and it is always difficult to watch when a family member is struggling to make ends meet.  The reality is that the budget for Maternity Services is pulled far too thin, so thin in fact that there are not even enough comfortable chairs to allow for all of the mothers of premature infants to sit with their babies and hold them skin to skin.

So I want to fix this.  I am going to donate 5 vouchers a month to the Neonatal Trust with the requirement be that the money is used to purchase chairs for the Special Care Baby Unit first.  The vouchers will be worth $500.00 and will be good for photographic services at my studio.   You can purchase them for $75.00 each.  To get one please register here

High Praise from Vivianna of Basquesse

Vivianna, the chief designer for Basquesse forwarded an email  that was correspondence between her and SimplyYou Magazine.  They had asked who the photographer was for her Mara Range, and this is what she wrote back,


 "The photographer was Mandi Lynn,  of Alight Photography.  I had spotted her amazing work in a Boticelli like composed photo and asked her if she could sponsor my pre-show shoot.  Luckily,  she did.    I believe she is one of the best photographers I have ever met."

The  lovely Jeremy Rose came out to my farm and studio to interview me about being an American expat and "political refugee."  I certainly wouldn't have taken it that far but it was interesting to have the interview and to the first time talk publicly about why I chose to relocate my family in New Zealand post September 11th.  If you are interested you can link to the interview here.
